New Master Bath
May 20th, 2009 by Kim

I have been busy working on several projects lately. One of the most exciting has been a master bath for a client who has become a friend of mine and my best client ever! Maybe it’s because she’s also an Ohio native but we had so much fun transforming her 80’s bathroom into a beautiful new spa-like getaway. I hope she enjoys it now as much as I enjoyed working on it. Love ya Barbara!

before-bath1

This was the old 80’s style tub area. Functional and spatious, yet not very stylish.

after-bath1

We added an arched furrdown to define the tub area and add an architectural feature to the space.

before-vanity
The old vanity was very long, but needed some style.

after-vanity

The owner wanted lots of storage and separate his and her-style vanity areas.

The shower and toilet were all in one room.

after-shower3

We replaced the old linen closet with a separate toilet room and created a walk-in shower room.

new-shower2

Oil rubbed bronze body sprayers and shower head.

This picture was taken right before mirrors were installed. The oil rubbed bronze fixtures, Kohler sinks and chocolate glazed cabinets worked well with the tropical brown granite against the blue walls.

Breakfast Room Upgrade
Mar 2nd, 2009 by Kim

My breakfast room was in need of a serious style boost.  I realized that we rarely used it because it just wasn’t comfortable.  4 chairs around a table=boring!  I had been seeing so many banquettes used in dining areas that I thought it would be a perfect addition to cozy up the space and make me want to sit at the table again.   I found this one on sale at Pier One Imports. Now this is my favorite spot to sit and read a story to Drew, surf the net, have a hot cup of tea or a great dinner with family.  The lamps(Hobby Lobby) create balance and ambiance against the over-sized mirror (The Great Indoors) and the banquette seems to anchor the space.  If you have a room that you walk by more than you experience, consider bringing in some non-traditional, cozy furniture to create a unique look.  Design a room that invites you in to enjoy it.
